Dr Paul Roberts
Dr Roberts trained in Leeds and first qualified in 1984. He worked as a principal in General Practice for 13 years in Rochdale Lancashire before leaving to lead the creation of Willow Bank Practice for South Stoke PCT in 2003. Subsequently, he become the first CEO of Willow Bank Partnership Community Interest Company, but stepped down from this post in 2014. In the past Dr Roberts has been a Macmillan GP facilitator, Hospice doctor, GPwSI in Substance misuse, GP Locum, out of hours GP and mentor.
He was briefly retired from clinical practice but returned to help out with Covid-19 services and remains Chair of Willow bank CIC.
Paul’s main interests at the moment are;
• The development of co-operative working models which incorporate different clinical disciplines, statutory and voluntary agencies and local people working together.
• The use of information technology in primary care.
• Developing a new way of working for GPs which is affordable and sustainable so he can carry on enjoying his chosen career.
When Paul is not working, he enjoys cooking, electronic music and meandering from inn to inn across the British countryside, with the occasional overseas trek thrown in for variety.
