We are pleased to announce due to the successful support network for our locum doctors in NSGPF, we have been asked to develop our scheme across the whole of Staffordshire. Our network takes a very informal approach and is overseen by an experienced GP Tutor. The network captures all CCG / NHSE information every month with the opportunity for the network to discuss any areas of concern and difficult case discussions.
We recognise locum doctors work in isolation and is vital to keeping them up to date with NHS changes and developing a peer support network.
Feedback obtained from locums doctors has been very positive with all noting a positive impact on their practice:
“Extremely useful sessions – one of the reasons I stay in this area. Great for upskilling and networking.”
“Very informative, educational and supportive environment. I look forward to the network meetings.”
“Valuable case discussion with locum colleagues which we don’t have an opportunity to see and share. Keep meetings semi-structural, the informal approach encourages participation and facilitates sharing of problematic cases and discussion.”
