Monday 8.00am – 6.30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)

Tuesday – 2pm – 6pm
Wednesday – 2pm – 6pm
Thursday – 8.00am – 12.30pm
Friday – DAY OFF

Salary negotiable dependent upon experience.

Required for all aspects of Reception work in a large General Practice Surgery

Applicants should be able to Multi-task and remain competent working in a very busy environment.

Audley Health Centre are looking for a practitioner to join our established elderly care team to work alongside our experienced practice matron and elderly care facilitator

We are a friendly, well organised, semi-rural GMS practice in Newcastle.  We are looking for a part-time clinician to work with our Practice Matron to join our energetic, committed and forward thinking team from Spring 2020 (date of commencement is flexible but before June). 

You will need to have post-registration experience and preferably be a non-medical prescriber.  Ideally you will have advanced clinical skills in order to assist the Practice Matron to manage a caseload of patients with long-term conditions and complex needs, whether at the surgery or in the patient’s own home or residential home.  You will be well supported by the GPs, Practice Matron and Practice Nursing team and we would be happy to develop the right candidate. We are happy to consider practice nurse, community nursing or PA experience for this role. Sessions worked are also negotiable.

North Staffordshire GP Federation

North Staffordshire GP Federation is a membership organisation to all 70 GP practices, currently serving the whole of North Staffordshire, including, Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands.  Member practices currently provide services to over 500,000 patients.

In addition to this, the North Staffordshire GP Federation currently run the Walk in Service at Hanley Primary Care Access Hub and from September 2018 has been providing the Extended Access to Primary Care service on behalf of member practices from 5 hubs across North Staffordshire (Hanley, Longton, Bradwell, Haywood and Leek). 

Clinical Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner
37.5 hours per week, primarily based at our Head Office in Hanley, Stoke on Trent

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the North Staffordshire GP Federation and its constituent member practices in the management and delivery of our walk-in and Extended Access services from a range of locations.  We are looking for an exceptional Nurse who shares our passion and enthusiasm for providing high quality, safe clinical services to the population we serve.

As a member of the Management Team, the post holder will be required to manage, review and develop service delivery for all of our services, ensuring quality and safety standards and key performance indicators are consistently met.  You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of nursing services on a day to day basis.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have substantial autonomous practice experience supported by the appropriate post registration qualification at MSc level.
  • Have successfully completed the appropriate qualifications to be an independent non-medical prescriber.
  • Have experience in nurse-led clinics, out of hours facilities or walk in centres.
  • Demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children.
  • Be prepared to participate in service development and innovation.
  • Have experience of concise history taking and differential diagnosis skills at an advanced level, employing clinical thinking.
  • Be a proven team player; and
  • Able to work unsocial hours, including bank holidays.

Administration Assistant

We now have a need to expand our team and are seeking to recruit an Administration Assistant to work alongside our Senior Administration Assistant to support the Federation’s Management Team and Board of Directors with general administrative duties. 

Successful candidates must be highly organised and systematic in their approach to work, with excellent communication skills.   Confidentiality is paramount, along with the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.  You will have experience of working in a busy office environment, able to prioritise your workload and be calm under pressure. 

Key duties include:

  • Organising meetings and training for the Federation and its wider membership.
  • To assist the Management Team by undertaking typing, photocopying, scanning of documents etc.
  • To assist with record keeping and data inputting.
  • To take and field telephone calls for the Federation, taking accurate messages.
  • To maintain filing systems including for all our clinical staff.
  • To order stationary and supplies for the Federation.
  • To provide reception cover on occasion for our various services.

There may be occasional travel required to meetings or our other hubs and so driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.

Our Services operate between 8am and 8.30pm, 7 days per week, 365 days per year so weekend and bank holiday work is required as part of the role.

We are seeking 2 Receptionists to work across our Hubs (Hanley Primary Care Access Hub, Haywood Hospital, Leek Moorlands Hospital, Bradwell Hospital and Longton Cottage Hospital). 

Receptionists are the first point of contact for patients arriving at our services and so successful candidates must be excellent communicators with the ability to offer a first class level of customer service to all patients and staff across our service.  Confidentiality is paramount, along with the ability to work with people for a diverse range of backgrounds.  You will have experience of working in a busy reception or office environment, able to prioritise your workload and be calm under pressure. 

Key duties include:

  • Receive all patients and visitors to the service in a pleasant efficient manner, ensuring they are booked in and that the appropriate person is notified of their arrival.
  • Ensure the hub you are working in is set up and ready to receive patients, including setting up the GP and Nurse consultation rooms, where applicable.
  • Answer the telephone promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner.
  • Perform receptionist duties as required by the Manager and Deputy Manager.

As you will be asked to work across hubs a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is desirable, or the ability and willingness to travel between Hubs.

We want the Health Care Assistant (HCA) role to become a key part of the service as it gives great opportunities for improving the uptake and convenience of things like ECG’s, basic wound management, smoking cessation, NHS Health Checks and long term condition management, particularly for the weekday working population.  We are also planning clinics for specific tests or investigations (e.g. spirometry testing).
